FAQ hemp seeds / Frequently asked questions
GENERAL:
"How about the quality? I recently ordered expensive CBD seeds somewhere and half were broken open or only half were left. This time I would like to have that question first."
Our seeds are selected by hand, pack by pack. The contents are always rolled over a Petri glass dish before filling - once on all sides. With a pair of tweezers, impurities such as individual endosperm or broken hemp seeds are neatly sorted out. Of course, it can also happen with us that imperfect hemp seeds creep in. Especially in the hectic main season this can happen once. To compensate for this, we will fill you a little extra everywhere.
"Can you guarantee me the THC level?"
Yes and no! For example, when used as a tobacco substitute, you are responsible for an accurate measurement of the end product.
However, it is very difficult and requires a disproportionate amount of effort to push our industrial hemp seeds over the legal THC limit. But if we find out something else, we would immediately remove the affected variety from the range.
"Are your hemp products 100% legal?"
In Switzerland yes, but the CBD hemp products must be compared with the legislation of your own country.
We are currently not allowed to deliver some products, such as hemp tobacco substitutes, to the EU.
"Could you send me an offer?"
We would be happy to send you the current price list as a PDF. This is based annually on supply and demand.
Since we can no longer make individual offers for reasons of time and the high request / order rate, I ask you to visit www.gardinova.com for more information. We are of course always available for further information!
"I read about the EU seeds that they are rich in CBD. But what does that mean?"
Most EU strains were originally bred to have a stable THC level, but since everyone is talking about CBD, we are often asked about it. The problem with the safe declaration of the CBD value for seeds is that not only the variety, but also the further growth of the plant and the growth of the parent plants is decisive (so-called phenotypes).
So there are slight changes in the plant's natural genetics. These inheritance patterns and the influences of external factors, such as the pH value of the soil, the location, the climate and the like, function quite similarly to us humans. For example, a plant on the left edge of the field can 3.4% CBD, while values of up to 5% or even 8% CBD for the stronger varieties can occur on the right edge of the field. Of course, it also depends on the time of harvest, as well as the further processing (e.g. cutting & drying). With more foliage on the flowers, the values drop rapidly. But don't be fooled; with simple tricks (such as a simple extraction at home), very high-percentage CBD products can be produced.
SHIPPING / PAYMENT
"Dear Gardinova Team; Why do you only accept prepayment? I find this a bit stupid in today's age!"
Of course, this is suboptimal - however, CBD products are currently being boycotted by large credit institutions.
In addition, it is very difficult for us to request an invoice for a few francs / euros.
Please understand our situation.
"Do you deliver to the EU ?!"
Yes. Of course. It is an EU certified seed. Oils and extracts are also readily available.
However, we do not assume any liability for incorrect procedures during import or for non-compliance with local legal requirements.
So before you place an order, we ask you to check the legal situation. In the event of rejection or failure to follow the correct procedure when importing into your country, or if documents and permits are not available, if necessary, we cannot transfer your money back to you. We thank you for your understanding. CBD flowers are not being shipped to the EU at this time.
Note:
But we hear more and more often from customers (WITH import permits) that the Austrian Post (UPU member) does NOT have any
Processes / ships / accepts products made from hemp. Unfortunately, we do not have any influence on this. However, we are constantly trying to put pressure on and ask our customers to confront the Austrian Post with it.
In any case, recently Austrian customers have been asking us more and more for discreet shipping in envelopes.
Word of this seems to have got around on the Internet.
We usually send parcels or bubble envelopes for larger shipments, as we assume that
Valid import permits / documents are available from the customer. However, packages and bubble envelopes are allowed from
Controlled by third parties. However, envelopes are subject to the confidentiality of letters and may only be opened for inspection if they are recognizable by third parties.
Shipping in envelopes can currently be carried out at the customer's request as follows:
-Max. 25 seeds per envelope. (Otherwise the chances that third party content can be perceived increase.)
-Costs: 3.50 Chf./ envelope (25 seeds each) (1 order = 1 pack of 25 seeds)
-The valid terms and conditions & FAQs apply.
We do not encourage anyone to do this.
But we also understand the current, very conservative situation in Austria.
"Do you send a tracking code to your orders?"
No - only with appropriate shipping information when ordering.
However, experience has shown that tracking code shipments and A Mail are more likely to be stopped and tested at national borders.
"My seeds still haven't arrived in a week! You certainly haven't sent them!"
We couldn't survive with such business practices. We have been an established company since 2015 & have a publicly visible entry in the commercial register. Delays of up to a month can occur, especially when shipping across borders.
More conservative countries also have industrial / CBD hemp seeds checked for their THC levels in a laboratory. Depending on the way in which customs work and the workload, this can be implemented quickly, but in some cases this can lead to considerable delays. So we ask you to consider this in the delivery time. Unfortunately, we can only react if your shipment has been returned to us by the responsible customs office or if the tracking code used (the shipping method can be selected) is also apparent to us. So we will be happy to initiate a new delivery to you.
We do NOT offer a money-back guarantee for legal problems when importing. The legal situation (also for the import, not just the national regulations!) Must be checked by the customer in advance.
MEDICAL
"Can you tell me what kind of headache could fight my chronic headache?"
We too hear and see an incredible number of stories about the medicinal uses of plants from the garden.
This is of course extremely often in combination with hemp. But:
No - we cannot and must not. So we will not comment on medical applications.
BREEDING / CULTIVATION
"I would like to grow only the female plants. Can you help me?"
The cultivation of exclusively female plants always requires a selection, as every type of hemp naturally has females & males or females & hermaphrodites. (Except for feminized seeds. However, this is not allowed with the approved varieties.) A selection means that male or, depending on the variety, the hermaphrodite plants at the beginning of flowering
on the basis of which male / female characteristics are filtered out or torn out. The mother plant breeding process is also used. In the long run, you can select much more precisely (size, yield, and the like). However, keeping / breeding mother plants almost requires a professional infrastructure and the same expenditure of time. So we naturally recommend the simpler option.
"What grain / sowing amount do I have to expect on one hectare?"
The sowing rate varies considerably with our farmers. This depends entirely on the method & the desired end product.
Some growers look manually, others look mechanically. Of course, it also plays a role whether male & weaker plants have to be pulled out in order to harvest the most beautiful, seed-free flowers. In the case of other products, such as extraction of the end product, these factors naturally play no or less a role. An average / guideline value would be 25kg / ha. Dense sowing is certainly recommended, as EU-certified varieties grow in height rather than in width without professional pruning.
"This company offers EU indoor hemp from you with over 20% CBD. Which variety do I have to order here to be really stoned?"
There are just as many scammers as there are interesting strains. In most cases a selection has to be made in order to achieve higher values. Most of the cases, however, are expensive specialty genetics for the CBD industry. We go to great lengths to achieve this in our pollen-safe breeding and experiment rooms. Note: CBD should definitely not make you stoned, CBD is NOT psychoactive.
"With which EU varieties can I grow indoor grass?"
Only your own experience can help you with this problem.
Everything is possible under the right conditions and a harmonious symbiosis of environment and variety.
"I have super awesome own THC-weed. I would like to cross it with EU hemp to get CBD-weed. Like the strawberry! How does it work? The company XY have confirmed to me that it works quickly and well. They sell X tons. "
Flo is known regionally as a hemp activist with a heart & the whole team is happy to help you. But we will not answer such questions.
Note: Few companies have "their own" genetics. Many use the regular cuttings or seeds market.
Note 2: There are many great books on genetics in plants, humans and animals available on the market. These will give you an impression of what is possible & what is not.
"Are cuttings of EU varieties allowed on agricultural land?"
No, only sprouts / saplings. Plants grown from seeds. The risk that harmful root hormones and the like are expelled with the cuttings / clones is too high.
LEGAL / CERTIFICATES
"Do I get a certificate for EU hemp when I buy a small pack of seeds, which guarantees that it is EU-certified industrial hemp?" No - our small packs are provided with a batch number, which allows the authorities to trace them back to the original seed label. They are not intended for commercial, agricultural use. The original seed label is only issued in large containers (25 kg.) For agricultural use / industrial cultivation, as defined by the EU and its control bodies. However, a scan of an old container can be enclosed on request.
COMMERCIAL / INDUSTIRE / SALE
"I want to sell your seeds in my shop. Is that possible?"
We're really glad. However, there are a few things that need to be considered. For example, our seeds may not be sold individually or even unpacked. You are welcome to contact us at any time.
"Hello! I would like to use your seeds commercially. Please help me!"
This is not a problem on our part. However, since we do not know / cannot check whether our seeds are actually being sown,
we do not assume any liability or provide legal information. We are happy to refer you to the official information sheets of the authorities responsible for your planned product. All variety information can be obtained here:
http://ec.europa.eu/plant_variety_catalogues
"Do you also sell large containers and, if so, do you send them?"
Yes - we mainly sell certified large containers / seed bags. However, large quantities must be reserved in the previous year (by February 25th of the target year). This is the only way we can meet the great demand of the market & guarantee the desired quantity.
Here you can find out how to reserve / buy large quantities!
Sending large quantities by post is not a problem on our part, but we recommend collecting larger quantities. At the risk of the customer (we cannot check the legal situation, such as any locally required permits. *)
the seeds will also be sent by registered mail. This can be tracked online using the Swiss Post tracking code.
* We had ex. Cases in the EU where no customs declaration was made by the customer & no permit for cultivation was available. Of course, we cannot accept any liability for this. We therefore ask you to clarify the situation on site thoroughly. Alternatively, we can offer you shipping within the EU for most varieties.
"How can I purchase large quantities of agricultural products from you. How do I have to proceed?"
25kgs. for agricultural use are delivered by reservation.
We will send you a reservation list at the end of January / beginning of February of the target year.
Important / Please read first:
-
Please note that our online range is not a range reference. The availability of individual varieties depends on successful certification over the winter.
-
Reservations must be made by February 25th. Of the target year and 40% prepaid. This is for our safety and to ensure that our customers / farmers get the desired amount on the market.
Here you can enter yourself without obligation in the recipient list for the "Reservation of large quantities" form:
